Cast off and get ready to set sail! Content creator Sam, who sails under the pseudonym “Raven the Pirate” on Instagram, set sail for new waters at the end of 2020. With more than 50,000 subscribers, the trained mechanical engineer inspires his followers with his affinity for EDC and lifestyle photography and knows how to skillfully showcase everyday objects. Aperture, exposure time, and light sensitivity are now the parameters that form the core of his work. His works radiate a fulfilling calm and inevitably create a new fascination for everyday objects. Knives play a central role in his product photos. Reason enough for Boker to join forces with Sam to issue a letter of marque for 300 selected buccaneers who will compete for the favor of the Boker Plus Raven Kihon. The exclusive special edition is based on a design by US knife maker Lucas Burnley and bears Sam's unmistakable signature. The distinctive Raven logo, which can be traced back to his nickname “Rabe,” is engraved on the gray titanium handle with frame lock and stonewash finish. Furthermore, the ball-bearing blade made of powder metallurgical CPM-S-35VN has been refined by renowned knife maker Alex Kremer with a black PVD finish for a discreet tactical look. Instead of a flipper like the series model, the Raven Kihon enters everyday life with a thumb stud, lanyard hole, and a tip-up clip (r). The corsair Kihon, strictly limited to 300 pieces worldwide, is delivered in a high-quality nylon case. Now it's time to weigh anchor before the booty is gone!

Perfect carry!

The Kihon looks and feels awesome. I had to adjust the frame lock a bit to make it deploy but I think it was like that from the factory. Mine is 10 out of the 300 out in the wild. If I had to give some negatives that would be the sticking lickbar to the blade and the bearings which work perfectly fine. But caged in plastic. I will try some skiffs to see if they make a difference or even fit for that matter.
