The sturdy droppoint blade made of SK-85 has an abrasion-resistant black powder coating and is of full tang construction so that it can withstand even greater stresses without any problems. The contoured handle made of brown micarta always lies securely in the hand thanks to the fine texturing and allows a variety of safe and comfortable grip positions. Quick handle changes into the reverse grip or back are supported by the ergonomic shape of the handle. The characteristic hollow rivets also serve as a lanyard hole. Supplied with a custom-fit Kydex sheath and a practical belt adapter.
Great all purpose knife, Sized Perfectly
I was looking at this knife for a while, just something about it caught my eye. No aggressive looks to it that might scare the non-knife carrying NPC's. Just a good blade shape and useful, neutral handle design for no matter how you hold it. Took a chance and grabbed one when they were on sale. No Regrets there other than not ordering two while they were marked down!
Kydex Sheath is excellent quality and retention. Have been carrying it with a lanyard around the neck without any worry of it coming, also great to just toss into a pocket or pack. Ulti-Clips fit well on the sheath. The included clip isn't too bad, it's a little more sturdy than one of the older, same style clip I have from a Boker Caracal fixed blade I bought about 10 years ago now. I don't really wear knives on my belt vertical any more, that clip can be configured for scout carry. No sharp angles on the handle to poke you or get caught on your gear however it's being carried. Also if you're in a cold climate, that rounded handle makes it easy on your palm while punching through some ice in stock tanks and water bowls for animals or ice on streams for your water filter/camp water.
Thick enough blade stock to not worry about breaking or bending it. The knife isn't too heavy, but does have enough weight to do some light chopping. Large enough blade to do some food prep for camp or at home (I used it to slice up some steak strips and cheese to toss in some well seasoned cast iron yesterday, worked great. Bought it after hunting season, so not sure how it does field dressing White Tail deer yet. It should do fine there). Takes a real nice edge and is holding it well. Blade coating is durable but isn't super thick like many of the powder coated blades on the market. Has a little texture/traction to it, I smoothed out on the blade with an extremely fine stone and rough piece of leather. The spine does have 90 degree edges, could clean off the coating in a spot for striking ferro rods if one is considering that. May do that with mine eventually being I typically carry one with each knife just to have on hand. Excellent fit and finish overall. Great size making it easy to keep close by and carry every day, especially with the wild events occurring across the globe on a daily basis. Definitely a knife you can rely on.
