The Boker Plus Papillon is a fully grown Balisong supplied with skeletonised stainless steel handle halves with a matt beadblast finish. Also known as a butterfly knife, the Balisong owes its name to the simple folding mechanism of the split handle, which is significantly less susceptible to dirt than other mechanisms. The ball-bearing clippoint blade is made of D2 with a matte stonewash finish as well. The pronounced ricasso underlines the tactical character of the knife. With a high-quality nylon case for storage.

Quality Feel

Im still in shock from the sale price on this. $40 for an incredible blade. The edge on the blade is bar far the sharpest i have and I have a ton. My new favorite flipper. Its kinda wild the practice bali version of this cost more?! Not exactly sure the math on that but it was high time i stepped up my bali game with the sharpest razor i own! lol. Great knife. Snag one on sale its worth what they originally charge.

Near Flawless Knife!

i've gotta say that this is one of the best-built balisongs i've ever come across. the machining and construction are near flawless. the matte finish on the D2 blade is beautiful and it's razor-sharp. the pivot is effortless and the play is almost non-exsistent even after a week's worth of flipping. i'm sure it'll need some tuning up after a while but these are great indicators of its durability and quality.
HOWEVER...
it flips strangely! standard openings feel fine but some fancier moves have an odd vibration. i own two other large boker balis (the skeletonized G10 and the tactical) and they both feel great when flipping. this one, on the other hand, has an odd resonance through the handle that gives it a strange rebound as the blade hits the zen pins. now, this is TOTALLY a personal taste issue-- some may even find it preferable-- but just note that the feel is night-and-day from the other boker butterflies.
this in NO WAY affects the quality and craftsmanship of the knife so i can't give it fewer than full stars. in fact, it's nice to have a different-feeling option and will still keep it in my collection!

First timer balisong

First removed the latch, then quickly tightened-up the torxes to eliminate some noticeably present play in both handles. The Kershaw tool has Torx bits that will fit this Boker. After that small bit of tuning (first time I ever did that), now Flips super smoothly, had good weight and balance, and sounds solidly clanky. Recommend going direct only took two days to get to me by standard Fedex. Can't really find fault with the experience so far. Nice to buy something that while less costly, still does what it was designed to do so very well.
