For years, the extraordinary Boker Tirpitz-Damast has been among the most sought-after collector’s knives in the Boker lineup. Its enduring popularity inspired the development of a new interpretation featuring the same historic Damascus steel in a more refined and elegant form: the Boker Tirpitz-Damast Wood. With a slimmer construction measuring approximately 10 mm in thickness, this version features a flatter profile and noticeably more graceful lines. Full-length handle scales crafted from locally sourced walnut wood emphasize the knife’s elegance. The matte-finished wooden scales are CNC-milled in a three-dimensional contour, offering both visual depth and excellent ergonomics. The Tirpitz crest and name are prominently displayed on the front, underscoring the knife’s historic identity. The Tirpitz, sister ship of the legendary Bismarck, was the largest battleship ever commissioned by the German Navy. Shortly after the end of the Second World War, a Norwegian salvage company began recovering the wreck off the coast of Norway to repurpose its highly alloyed steel for civilian use. Exclusively for Boker, Norwegian divers retrieved original sections of the Tirpitz’s armored steel. These authentic remnants of history were transformed by Boker’s Damascus forger into an exceptional steel with a remarkable provenance. The powerful blade is hand-forged from Damascus steel in the impressive “Great Pyramid” pattern, featuring 300 layers and making this knife a standout in any serious collection. The combination of Tirpitz steel with carbon tool steels results in an exceptionally durable Damascus. With a hardness of 62 HRC ±1, the blade delivers excellent performance and is well suited for everyday cutting tasks. The blade is secured by a 1.5 mm thick liner lock and opens smoothly via a removable thumb stud. A tip-up pocket clip ensures practical carry. The knife is presented in a high-quality transparent frame display case and includes a certificate of authenticity and an individual serial number, confirming its exclusive collector status.
