useful
Small enough for edc, but durable enough for anything you can think of. I personally purchased it as an alternative to carrying a knife and separate pry tool with me to work, and it hasn't disappointed. I wouldn't use it as a replacement for a heavier crowbar or something of that ilk, but it's definitely well made and meant to take a beating. It is a tad pricey, but in years of searching, I've yet to find anything half as useful.
BCT FTW
Updated Cop Tool?
OK, for starters, the BCT is made great, tough and very durable to be sure BUT there is an issue with these new BCT's. What I mean is that this new one (I own four now) is made differently in size and the seatbelt cutter is re-designed and cut deeper into the main blade of the tool but that's not the issue, the issue is with the included kydex sheath, it looks like a handmade sheath which would still be OK except for the fact that it's made too small for the BCT to properly fit into. Additionally, these new BCT's will not fit into the aftermarket kydex sheaths either as they are too thick and get jammed up half way into them.
So for clarification, the BCT is great but it's been changed in size and has a deeper cut seatbelt cutter now. The issue is solely with is newly included cheaper ill-fitting kydex sheath that comes with the new BCT. Just a heads up folks.
Not what the Cop Tool used to be.
For a frame of reference, I've bought 3 Boker Cop Tool's over the past 5 years, not because they're bad or crappy, just to use it different places (my car, the bug out bag, the backpack, as an EDC, etc.).
This one makes the fourth Cop Tool and is by far the worst one ever! It's like it's a knock-off from some subpar Chinese manufacturer, seriously! This Boker CT won't fit into the accompanying kydex sheath. It barely fits halfway into the included kydex sheath. When I tried to see if it would fit in my other kydex sheath, it doesn't so apparently this version isn't to the standard like the other three.
The finish on this CT is nothing like the others as well, it is shiny, slightly darker and visually, the seatbelt cutter/cord cutter on the topside of the blade is seriously different; it is cut deeper into the top of the blade coming further down the sides of the blades.
To be very honest, this Boker CT looks exactly like the earlier Wilson version except that this one carries G-10 scales instead of the standard Paracord weaved "grips" of the original Wilson model.
To say that I'm disappointed and rather vexed would be an understatement. Will this CT work sd intended, most likely but without a kydex sheath that fits the CT, it's going to be relegated to a drawer for sometime, not what I had ordered it for. SMH
Best Knife I own
Best overall knife for EDC use. Can cut, dig, scrap, pry. Just wish I could find a horizontal knife sheath for it. If you know of any, please let me know. Thanks for the great product!
