The History Knife & Tool Commando Dagger revives one of the most iconic combat knife designs of the 20th century: the legendary Fairbairn-Sykes Fighting Knife. Originally developed by Lt. Col. William E. Fairbairn and Major E. A. Sykes in Shanghai and officially adopted in 1941, this timeless blade became the trusted companion of elite Allied forces - including the SOE, SAS, and OSS.
Authentic 3rd-Pattern Design (1943 Onward)
This faithful recreation follows the classic 3rd-pattern proportions, meticulously crafted to honor the form and function of the original:
Blade: Narrow, double-edged, medium-point profile measuring 18 cm (≈7.1")
Guard & Handle: Straight oval guard with jimped aluminum spindle handle and through tang
Finish: Fully blackened components for the correct wartime appearance
Sheath: Hand-stitched dark-brown leather with studded patch plate, twin belt studs, 20 mm rubber retention strap, and optional attachment straps
